Symbian is the mobile operating system powering most smartphones from Sony Ericsson and Nokia. My diploma thesis consisted in developing an application for a Sony Ericsson P800 smartphone.

ContextRecorder

ContextRecorder is a data collection application intended for automatic context recognition based on the collected sensory data and user annotation.

Interruptions caused by incoming messages or phone calls arise as a side effect of the constant use of mobile communication devices. The willingness to answer a notification depends on its importance and the recipient's current situation. Studies have shown the feasibility of automatic context recognition based on sensory data and user annotation, thus minimising the number of superfluous interruptions.
